Certainly not their best album, but what is Caedmon’s Call without Derek Webb? You’ve got to admire the idea behind it, though: traveling around the world to share pieces of praise to a holy God with the world at large. The album comes across better live than it does on the recording because the drummers dancing around their percussion is a sight to see! My suggestion is to close your eyes and imagine Todd Bragg and Garrett Buell gyrating in rhythm as you feel the world-beat pulse of this album come through.

I really liked this CD. I love the fact the entire collection of songs was born out of three distinct mission trips. I really appreciate the story telling that was done in each of these songs. It is not uncommon to hear Christian artists speak about missions, but it is very unusual to hear a band devote an entire release to the stories of service, hope, and need that are found in this CD. I can not think of a more unique collection of songs and the incorporation of regional instruments and musicians just makes this perfect.
I was serving a rural church in the heart of the Bible belt at the time of this CD’s release and I can tell you that these songs had a major impact on the youth that I was serving at that time.
