This excellent EP has been, ever since it’s release, my absolute favorite collection of songs in one package. And that’s independent of the fact that it’s completely and entirely free. In fact, the only thing that could have made it better would have been if I had sent in my own vocals for the “webground” vocals; then I could have been a part of what was obviously a community effort. Ahhh well. It’s only Volume 1. My chance to contribute may yet come.

My wife and I were given a copy of this E.P. by a friend. It’s my favorite Andy O. recording to date because it’s honest, simple and well-written. “Swing Wide the Glimmering Gates” is a song that we will continue to sing in our house for years to come–our kids periodically sing it when they’re playing (how’s that for catchy?). For the price, you cannot get a better collection of songs from any singer-songwriter.
