I got this cd the year it came out on a whim because I thought the band’s name was cool. It turned out to be a lifesaver of sorts for me, for as I was hiding my depression from everyone around me, I could listen to this cd and I knew that somewhere out there someone understood. I’ve been a fan of The Normals ever since, and while I think I prefer their last album to this one, it still holds a tender, vulnerable place in my heart. I love that I got to “grow up” with The Normals, as the progression of their albums mirrored my own life.
