Good-Looking Criminals…
Yeah, crazy week, eh? You know something’s up when Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh agree.
It has been just as crazy on ol’ AndyLand. Caedmon’s played in Durham, NC Saturday and Lexington, SC on Sunday. Our show in Durham was actually at Duke University in Cameron Indoor Stadium, the basketball arena. That was pretty cool, though it sounded like we were playing in a giant metal swimming pool.
I brought my oldest daughter, Ella, with me this weekend. She’s three and a half and LOVES the bus. Three nights and two days on the road. No naps, very early mornings, and it was awesome. We got to hang out with her grandparents, go swimming at the hotel, read books, cuddle in the bunk and eat junk food the whole time. We’re very tired now, but it was a wonderful time. She had a blast and everybody was incredibly great with her.
In other news, one of my neighbors is a national and area director for YoungLife Capernaum, a ministry for kids with disabilities. A girl here in Nashville is a part of the program and she told our neighbor she wanted to record herself singing some of her favorite worship songs. Paul Eckberg started some tracks with her and tonight I started putting bass and electric guitars down on it. I haven’t enjoyed playing “God of Wonders” this much in, well, ever. It’s been amazing and humbling.
Oh. Today I found out somebody used a stolen credit card of mine to buy a membership at a 24-hour fitness club and a hundred bucks worth of makeup. Good-looking criminals…
Oh yeah, and this is the last thing, I heard today that they’re going to make Ghostbusters 3.
God really does answer prayers.

Not only are they going to make Ghostbusters 3, but it’s being penned by the writers of The Office and both Steve Carell and Seth Rogen are attached to the project now.

What if it was Steve Carell that stole your credit card so that he could get buff for the movie? Totally worth it!

I find it hilarious how after all that’s mentioned in this blog (the economy crisis, father-daughter bonding, genuine heartfelt worship) all that’s commented on is Ghostbusters 3. Somewhere Ray Parker Jr. is smiling.

GB 3? Wow. At a time when our country needs wisdom, strength and leadership to get us through the storm of a broken economy, Hollywood gives us Ectoplasm. Brilliant!! Maybe they can dust off Ray Parker Jr or spring Bobby Brown out of rehab long enough to do a theme song. Andy! You could write it!

Thanks for the great show in Lexington, SC. You guys were great and your daughter is very sweet. My favorite moment of the concert was when Randall came back to the side of stage and you guys were trying to have this whole conversation (most of it with hand gestures) about her being asleep (or not asleep) on the bus while you were playing a solo the whole time. That rocked. I posted some of the better shots on my flickr page for you guys to check out, but it was tough because the folks in the church asked me not to use my flash. Have a good one.

I recently read that Bill “THE MAN” Murray is totally willing to jump back in if the script is right…he said he couldn’t stand GBII with all its special effects and hopes the story will be on par with what Dan A. Brought to the first one.

So, I wonder if the end of Ghostbusters 3 will involve have a giant Starbucks Logo chick trying to kill them instead of Mr. Stay Puft… and will it still be in NYC or will it be in Boca Raton, Florida (ha, ha, ha).
