So here’s a story…
So here’s a good story… Months and months ago I had a song-writing session with a guy. I really liked the guy, we had a good time, but I didn’t feel we really got anything. Well, he took the thing that wasn’t really all together and finished it with another guy. That song went on that other guy’s record.
That other guy is Chris Tomlin and apparently the album is #4 on iTunes this week. I still haven’t heard the song.
Have you? Do you like it?

I was pleasantly surprised to see your name in the credits.
It’s track 10 on the album. Called “With Me.” I actually really dig it.
One of my favorites on the album so far.

I remember you writing in a blog a long time ago that you like BigBang. I happened to take a look at their tourdates right now, and noticed they’re in the U.S. And so I thought of you. Here’s the link, in case you wanna take a look and figure out if you are able to attend a concert.:) http://thebigbangweb.com/blog/

Sounds good. Nice that they left you on as a writer so you can get paid.

does this mean any “real” money for the Osenga clan? or just a tiny check every now and again?

So when is “In the Company of Angels 3″ coming out?

I don’t know how much of it is You, but it is certainly one of the better songs on the record. I notice that for the most part, not to hate on Tomlin, but the songs of his I tend to like best are either written by someone else (ala “God of This City” – by Blue Tree) or are collaborations with other artists like this one.
And I am glad this probably helps you put food on the table.
So, even if you didn’t play a huge roll in this one, I would encourage you to make the kind of music you want to make but not shy away from these kind of collaborations if they are to happen again. As a full time worship leader at a church, I am all for any songwriter who can write with creativity and lyrical depth lending a hand in the worship song arena. You definitely fit that bill.
