A Jaguar eating a Texan? That’s something I want to see.
My friend Bryan Allain has a great website. I would go to it a lot but it’s all about sports, so I don’t. Apparently the football season is starting soon and he asked me if I’d provide some predictions for him.
I did.
I’ve learned to work the Google on my internet machine and I typed in NFL to see what teams there are. They are actually split into two halves somehow, so I had to pick a final showdown for each half. I tried to visualize what would be the most likely to happen in real life, and also the most fun to watch. A bear would surely eat a cardinal, but a jaguar eating a Texan is entertaining.
For the record, a couple years ago I made over a hundred bucks from Jars of Clay two weeks in a row with this system.
Not until the chart came out did I realize Jacksonville and the Jaguars were the same team.
Also, I had to pick an MVP, so I fired up old Google again and found a guy with a fun picture. He should do well this year.

Andy, I’m disappointed. My favorite singer/guitarist should not be so ignorant of my favorite football team! Yes, watching a Jaguar eating a Texan will be entertaining - and it should happen in week 4 of the season, if memory serves. Oh well - I’ll forgive you, but only when Letters Vol. 2 comes out!

Wow, your system for picking games is surprisingly similar to Cousin Balki’s in an old episode of Perfect Strangers. I even found it on Youtube…

As a Texan, I find the title of this post disheartening.

dude, I wish I had your prediction insight last year when some sports-crazed friends of mine roped me into a fantasy football league. It was called fantasy so I thought maybe it would incorporate Lord of the Rings or something…

Mr. Osenga,
You are my hero.
But I wouldn’t quit your day job–especially with Letters Vol 2 so close!

I agree with Elijah - as a Texan, this slightly hurts my feelings. Besides, I’m pretty sure any Texan could take a Jaguar hands down.
